Article 1. Introduction
Law Studio Bluem processes personal data in the course of its activities. Law Studio Bluem values your trust and makes every effort to protect your privacy. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. If you are a client of Law Studio Bluem, this privacy statement applies to you. This privacy statement further applies to all processing of personal data within Law Studio Bluem. Law Studio Bluem reserves the right to amend and supplement its privacy statement.
Article 2. Processing of Personal Data
Personal data includes any information about an identified or identifiable natural person. This refers to information that can reasonably be traced back to a person. A distinction is made between general and special categories of personal data. Special categories include data on race, religion, health and/or criminal history. Stricter rules apply to the processing of special categories of personal data. Law Studio Bluem does not process special categories of personal data. If an exception occurs, explicit consent will be requested from the data subject for the processing of such data
The personal data that Law Studio Bluem may process include:
- First and last name;
- Date of birth;
- Contact information, including mailing address, e-mail address and telephone number;
- Other personal data provided by you as a client of Law Studio Bluem.
Your personal data will be obtained when you a) use Law Studio Bluem’s services as a client; b) complete the contact form; c) enter into another business relationship with Law Studio Bluem. In addition, your personal data may have been provided to Law Studio Bluem by a client or third parties or may have become known through public sources.
Article 3. Purposes
Depending on the type of personal data being processed, the data will be processed for one of the following purposes:
- Your personal data will be processed if and insofar as this is necessary for the (legal) services of Law Studio Bluem;
- Your personal data may be processed for marketing and business development activities, such as news updates and other marketing communications that may be of interest to you. This will only be done in the context of executing the assignment/agreement or if you have given your consent;
- If you provide services to Law Studio Bluem for the purpose of conducting business or otherwise provide services to Law Studio Bluem, your personal data will be processed if and to the extent necessary for the maintenance of the business relationship and for the performance of the services.
Article 4. Legal grounds for processing
Law Studio Bluem processes personal data on the basis of the following legal grounds:
- Consent;
- Execution of an agreement;
- Legal obligation.
Article 5. Retention period
Personal data will not be kept longer than necessary, with a maximum of five (5) years (as required under Article 7:412 Civil Code), unless a longer retention period is required by law or Law Studio Bluem has a legitimate interest in doing so. After that it will be deleted. If you have had non-binding contact with Law Studio Bluem, your personal data will be deleted as soon as it is clear that no client relationship will be established.
Article 6. Disclosure to Third Parties
Law Studio Bluem does not, in principle, disclose your personal data to third parties. However, in the context of its services, it may be necessary for Law Studio Bluem to share personal data with third parties. A processing agreement will be concluded with them in due course. Data will only be shared if this is necessary for the provision of services. This may include:
- Providing your personal data to external service providers, such as IT suppliers, marketing and/or communication consultants, document storage managers or other suppliers of specific support services;
- Sharing personal data with third parties when necessary for the performance of assignments, such as the preparation of contracts.
Law Studio Bluem only provides your personal data to the aforementioned third parties for the purposes and legal grounds specified in this privacy statement. If this is not the case, the express consent of the client is required.
Article 7. Your Rights
As a data subject, you have the following rights:
- Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent to the use of personal data at any time. To do so, please send an email to Law Studio Bluem, info@lawstudiobluem.com;
- Right to object: You may object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes at any time by submitting a request by email to Law Studio Bluem, info@lawstudiobluem.com;
- Right of access and other rights: You have the right to request Law Studio Bluem to inspect your personal data, to restrict the processing of your personal data, to request correction or deletion of your personal data, or to transfer your personal data in a readily downloadable and machine-readable format. - Right to file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority: You have the right to file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority if your rights are violated.
