Gwen
Klein Bluemink

Gwen Klein Bluemink (born in 1993) studied Law at Leiden University and completed her Master’s degree in Intellectual Property at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2018. During her studies, she combined law with creativity: signing record deals, writing music, singing jingles (including a Buma Award-winning jingle for Radio 2), and founding her own label, Bluem Entertainment.

For her Master’s thesis, Gwen examined the legal monopoly of Buma/Stemra (Article 30a of the Dutch Copyright Act) and explored whether an open market for rights management, as in the US, could be a better alternative. Her research led to an internship at Buma/Stemra’s lobbying department, where she gained insight into the interplay between policymaking, politics, and copyright.

After graduating, Gwen started as a legal counsel at Cloud 9 Music, where she negotiated contracts with national artists and worked on both publishing and recording deals. She then joined Blonk.NU, a niche law firm specialized in the music industry, where she advised international acts such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Lost Frequencies, and labels like Smash The House. Alongside her practice, she pursued the two-year Benelux Professional Training in Trademark and Design Law, which she successfully completed in early 2025. Early 2024, Gwen joined Superstruct Entertainment (ID&T) as Legal Counsel, where she worked on festivals including Defqon.1, Zwarte Cross, Awakenings, and DGTL. Her role focused on brand partnerships, managing the trademark portfolio, supplier contracts, and providing legal support for music labels such as Q-dance Music and DGTL Records.

In the summer of 2025, Gwen founded her own law firm. Building on her combined experience as an artist, entrepreneur, and lawyer, she offers an accessible, affordable, and specialized legal partner for makers and creative entrepreneurs.

"The gap between the creative and legal worlds is often wider than it needs to be. My mission is to make legal support understandable, reliable and affordable. This encourages creators to seek help sooner and in doing so better protect their rights and position."
